On January 16th, six GFWC members volunteered at the “Jammin’ For Freedom” event sponsored by Bridging Freedom. This was a community event to celebrate their progress toward building a safe home campus for rescued child sex trafficking victims. Our volunteers, Ginger Lampi, Hannah Gabora, Carol Marmon, Vicki Christensen, Debbie Ferri and Elaine Jones, worked the information table, “The Shoppes” tent, and also the raffle table.
Not only was this event a celebration of what has been accomplished, but also a community awareness event, bringing the problem of sex trafficking of children to light. There were multiple bands, food trucks and speakers throughout the afternoon. The day ended with a candlelight vigil – remembering and praying for those rescued and those still held in bondage. The founder of Bridging Freedom, Laura Hamilton, will be joining us at our March meeting
